Mercury represents communication, transport, travel, finance, telecom, technology, logical thinking, transgenders, corporate, etc.
So when mercury becomes retrograde you will experience challenges regarding all these things.
A lot of misunderstandings and miscommunications will happen in this period. Especially, from 2nd January to 14th January 2023, because in this period Mercury will be combust also.
So retrograde mercury + combust mercury is vey angry mercury.
This is a time to review your decisions, reflect on your actions, reassure your goals, revisit certain places you visited before, and reanalyse important documents/reports.
Don't make any final-level decisions in the first meeting. Leave a scope for further discussion. Be it a business decision, job decision or a personal relationship decision. Getting married or getting divorced. Don't decide in this period.
I have clients coming over to me for all these reasons, and when I see the dates of those events, they are from retrograde periods mostly. You also might regret your decisions later just like them. That's why, postpone the important life changing decisions for later date.

As per medical astrology, mercury represents your speech, voice, throat, thyroid gland, and skin.
So you might see health issues related to this. So make sure you take care of your voice, throat, use proper moisturizer, sun screen lotion while going out, use a herbal anti-dandruff shampoos, perfumes, etc. Stay away from the toxic products.
In the last mercury retrograde, many of you have reported of getting rashes and body tags, etc. This time also it can happen, so take care of your skin, reduce spicy-salty food from your diet. Because that's what give the skin problems.
Get rid of the stress. It adds up to skin problems. Do some Yoga positions for stress relief. And Pranayam will be a life saver.
Not everyone is going to get skin problem off-course, it's going to be more or less intense as per your birth chart position of Mercury.

Mars is also retrograde since 31st October 2022 to 13th January 2023. Right now Mars in Taurus sign which is ruled by Venus.
So when Mercury gets retrograde, we all be getting the effects of these 2 retrograde planets simultaneously.
Mars represents violence, fights, anger, accidents, short circuits, fire, riots, outburst, defence services, police, fire brigade, etc.
So we might see riots or violent protest arise out of miscommunications in this period.
Politicians should be very cautious about their speech. Their phones can get tapped or some conversations/data may get leaked.
Transphobic people and transgenders, both can get in trouble because of miscommunications. So please be polite to each other or simply postpone/avoid the conversations.
Major accidents/scandals can occur because of technical faults. Especially in the companies related to telecom, finance, technology, cosmetics, media, etc.
Social media platforms, software and mobile apps and entire IT sector will see challenges because of technological glitches, software updates, information leakage, data leakage, etc.
Tech Industry stocks might fall down in this period and some may reach their highest potential. It depends on the company's birth chart, and the founder/CEO's birth chart.

Mercury Retrograde Remedies/ Precautions:
DON'T BUY any communication or technology related item such as laptop, computer, mobile phones, etc
DON'T buy new house or cars, bikes, etc vehicles.
DON'T invest in new stocks.
DON'T visit any government official or politician for any of your important work.
DON'T take up a new job or leave current job.
DON'T say 'YES' to someone for marriage in this period or you might change your mind after this period gets over. And then will regret your decision.
DON'T sign any important contracts such as rent or lease agreements, marriage certificates, web hosting/domain name registrations, etc.
Even though mercury is getting DIRECT on 19th January, 2023, I would advise to take care and follow these tips till 8th February, 2023. Because that's when the shadow period ends.
Common Sense Advised
Please use common sense about what's important and what's not about above mentioned precautions/remedies. Don't blindly follow this. Because these are general predictions we all see in life. What you personally get out of this depends on your personal birth chart.
For example: If you wanna buy a new house then you can postpone it for 3 weeks till this mercury retrograde period gets over, and then buy it. Same for the car.
However, if you must travel to a certain destination and you can't postpone or cancel it, then go with it. Just make sure you cross check every little thing, your tickets, necessary items, all the paperwork, copies of the original documents, etc. Always keep an eye on your wallet, expensive items, etc during this time.
Whenever I get cases of "how to get back lost and expensive items", I ask them the date when they lost the item, and 8 out of 10 times, the date they give is mostly mercury retrograde period, so be careful.
