Here I want to mention a small but very important thing which many people forget every year and then keep regretting later. I want you to not to miss the thing.
When God leave your house. Pack some FOOD for him for his Journey.
YES, I said that right. It's an old tradition to give him his favorite food with him for his Journey. The Special Spicy Dal is a MUST as a Prasad for the day of Anant Chaturdashi. But give him some Modak & Sweets also along with Spicy Dal. When you visarjan Ganpati, distribute that Spicy Dal Prasad at the visarjan ghat (the venue) among the other devotees who are present. give some small amount of money (Dakshina) to the boy who do Visarjan of your Ganpati Statue. Don't bargain with him for God sake.
As I aid, this is a small thing, but is really important. God will be on his long Journey, so make sure you offer him the food and pack with him. Wish him Happy Journey.
And yes, Don't forget to invite him for next year- Ganapati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Yaa.
